So what’s so great about drinking coffee in Australia?
1. It costs roughly the same price where ever you go (this point probably applies to most places in the world) – whether you’re drinking it at the Hilton or in a cafe in Chinatown, I have yet to have a coffee that cost more than $4.50 ( Update, the Westin, a luxury hotel in the Sydney CBD charges $7.50 for a cappucino, and it was not even that good! Served by a guy dressed up straight out of the British colonial era)
2. The coffee in Sydney and Melbourne (and in Australia in general) is of a very high standard, not quite at the level of the Italians, but very good nonetheless.
3. Sydney and Melbourne cafes are great cities to watch people go by…this activity is complimented by a cup of coffee, which is never hard to find, no matter where you are.
4. There seem to be as many coffee shops in Sydney and Melbourne as there are pubs in London, so you never have to drink in the same one twice.
(I’ll keep adding to this over time – that’s all I got so far)
Hi,
Thanks alot for such marvelous posts. My hobby is to have coffee around Sydney, and watch people go by. It’s one of the most relaxing things I love to do.
Unfortunately, I’m not from Sydney. Though, I come to Sydney for a couple of weeks every now and then.
Please, keep up the great work.
Warm regards.
Thanks for that. The site is relaunching with more regular coffee reviews promised!
